"Shh, Brianna."

It was then I felt the tears. I was crying. He must be so disappointed in me. Even though he didn't sounds angry, I knew he must be.

What if he took me back?

Flash Fiction Friday - 4-27-12

Flash Fiction Friday is an author challenge. What can you do with only 100 words?
“Who do you think she is?”

“No idea,” Jamie said, glancing over at his friend.

“Do you think we should do something? Talk to her?”

Jamie looked at his friend in disbelief. They’d been exploring the overgrown woods behind his grandfather’s house when they’d stumbled across a strange looking woman.

Before he could answer, the woman turned around and stared at them. The problem, however; was that her eyes were not in her face but her hands.

Not waiting to see the woman’s reaction to them spying, the two boys took off at a full run back toward the house.

Six Sentence Sunday - April 22, 2012

This morning she'd spent over an hour in the bathroom doing her hair and makeup, something she never did anymore, and donned one of her new power business suits. She pulled her reddish-brown hair up off her neck in a twist to give her a more professional air, as did the three-inch black pumps she wore. She looked good in the sleek black pants suit. Of course she should, given what it had cost. The sales woman had commented how much the suit complimented her figure, and she had to admit, it did show off her assets while hiding her flaws.

She ran a hand down the front of the suit and sighed, whispering to her reflection, "Ready or not, here I come."

Interview - Triangle Variety Radio

Tonight I will be on Triangle Variety Radio along with several other Mystery/Triller/Suspense authors. The program runs from 8pm - 11pm EST. I was on this program before talking about Slave and erotica books in general and it was a lot of fun. We had people call in to discuss our books and ask us questions. I hope you can listen in tonight.

Six Sentence Sunday - April 15, 2012

She backed toward the stairs without thinking. It was then that he noticed her, appraising her from head to foot, and his scrutiny made her uncomfortable. Even though she was completely clothed, she felt the need to cover herself.

He was huge, taller than Jared or her father. His hair was a dark brown, only a shade darker than his eyes, and he looked dangerous, more dangerous than her husband, and her frightened expression must have been apparent. She closed her eyes tight, willing everything to go away: her memories, her fear, this man before her.

Flash Fiction Friday - 4-13-12

Flash Fiction Friday. What can you do with only 100 words?

She couldn’t believe her best friend had talked her into this. Why couldn’t she have just taken him to dinner, or bought him some crazy looking gadget that she had no idea how to use for his birthday?

Too boring, her friend had insisted. “You need to wow him.”

That’s how she found herself lying on her bed, naked, with her friend taking pictures of her.

“And there,” her friend said, before lowering the camera and smiling. “He’s going to love these you know.”

Then, her friend turned the camera around, showing her the image. She really did look beautiful.

Book Signing - Lovejoy's Market

I had a book signing today at Lovejoy's Market in Plain City, Ohio today. Set up my new folding card table in the lobby and set out all my books along with some bookmarks and some of my little MOO cards.

There was lots of foot traffic today going through the store. I lucked out and they were having a big Easter sale today. Quite a few people stopped by in the first hour, but then it seemed to dwindle. I did sell some books though and passed out bookmarks to a good number of people.

Behind Closed Doors was my big seller today. The town I was in is fairly conservative, so I got a few looks from patrons over Slave. One lady picked it up, looked at the back, and quickly laid it back down. The whole part of book signings though is exposure; getting your name out there. Hopefully I've generated a few more fans at the end of the day.

Six Sentence Sunday - April 1, 2012

It was then I got it. "You want me to buy her." It wasn't a question, and he didn't deny it. The thought of "buying" a woman turned my stomach, but if what Daren said was true, I couldn't just leave her there.

I needed more information and ignored my food as it grew cold on my plate. "What makes you think he'd be willing to part with his property?"
