Flash Fiction Friday - 8-31-12

One picture.

One hundred words.

She couldn’t believe it. They weren’t at it again were they?

Picking up her binoculars, she parted her curtains just enough to see clearly out the window and into her neighbors living room.

Unbelievable. How many times had it been this week alone? Ten? Eleven? She’d lost count.

“Spying again?”

She jumped at the sound of her husband’s voice, and nearly dropped the binoculars.

“You scared me.”

Walking to where she was standing at the window, her husband drew the curtains closed. He removed the binoculars from her hands. “Guess you need something to take your mind off the neighbors.”

Six Sentence Sunday - August 26, 2012

She had to use every bit of will power she possessed in order to pay attention. Cali knew she had to get a hold of herself. He worked for her. Well, he worked for her father and, in turn, for her for the next three months.

She sank down in the tub and let the water engulf her entire body, leaving only her head above the surface. Maybe she was over analyzing the connection with Matthew Andersen.

Flash Fiction Friday - August 24, 2012

Flash Fiction Friday is back.

This week's picture is a free image courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos.net.

He’s promised her a surprise. All she had to do was remove all her clothes and lay on the bed face down. There was soft music playing in the background. He’d told her to relax, and she was doing her best. She was just anxious for whatever it was he had planned.

At the sound of the door opening, she turned her head toward the door. There her husband stood in nothing but a towel that rode low on his hips. “Hi.”

He smiled.

“Hi.”

He walked toward her, climbing up on the bed. “Just close your eyes and relax.”

Writing Update - August 19, 2012

I've been very bad at blogging lately this last two weeks, but I'm going to try to do better by posting some writing updates. Since this is the first one that I done in a while, I'm going to start with an overview.

If you've been following me on Facebook or Twitter, then you know that I've been dividing up my time promoting Need, which came out July 26th, editing Red Zone, the second book in my Daniels Brothers Series, and writing Book 3 in my Finding Anna Series. To say I've been busy is an understatement.

This week I was talking with the TWCS marketing director. I've got some exciting news coming up regarding my short story, A Christmas Proposal, I'm hoping to be able to share with you here soon. Some of you may remember A Christmas Proposal is part of a holiday anthology my publisher released last year, Season of Love. It was only available from November to the end of January.

Over the course of the last week, I was interviewed on three different radio stations. You never know what your going to get when your interviewed, but I have to say that the one I did with a radio station in Halifax, Nova Scocia was definately my most interesting to date. It was one of those morning shows that is all about entertainment. They kept asking me the same question over and over again because they didn't like my original answer.

I've also been working with the graphics department on the cover for Red Zone. Once it's set, I'll share it with you. So far I'm loving it!

Work on Book 3 of my Finding Anna Series has been a little slow. I've had to jump back and forth between editing Red Zone, and writing Book 3. Gage and Rebecca from Red Zone are nothing like Stephan and Brianna from Finding Anna, so switching gears mentally is sometimes a challenge. I have a little time now as Red Zone has gone to my copy editor, and I'm hoping to get to spend the next few weeks writing.
