COVER REVEAL - Hello LAlaland #1 by Madi Merek

Hello_LAlaland_Hi-Res_Cover-1
Hello LAlaland
Lost in LAlaland #1
Paparazzi, vodka cocktails, and sex. Welcome to LAlaland.
Winifred Chapman isn’t thrilled with the idea of her ten year reunion; especially not the idea of returning to LAlaland. Even in the midst of her thrilling career, she’s managed to avoid LA as often as possible, which is saying a lot for a world-renowned fashion designer. She has a life which women everywhere would envy, and has everything she needs . . . or so she thinks. Anthony Ricci was the most popular guy at Westlake High, and the one Winifred thought would never look twice at her. A former professional athlete, he now runs a successful Italian restaurant in New York City. When they run into each other at the reunion and give in to a widely passionate night, Anthony decides he may want more than Winifred is willing to give. Hating being known by the men she’s dated or slept with, Winifred has learned to take what she needs from them without investing emotionally. When she discovers Anthony’s old desire for her and disappears after their night together, he refuses to give her up. Will he be able to show her that love doesn’t have to be a battle, or will LAlaland prove to be enough to destroy her carefully constructed walls?
Are you ready for the madness of LA?

Snow Rollers And More

It's the beginning of a new week and Ohio, along with the eastern half of the US is being taken over yet again by the polar vortex. While I'm not looking forward to potentially setting a new record low tomorrow, my husband and I did wake up to something rather cool this morning.

According to the weatherman, these are called snow rollers.

Apparently, they are very rare. The snow has to be light enough to be blown around by the wind, yet wet enough to pack. We had more than half a dozen in our yard this morning. Neither my husband, nor I, had ever seen anything like it before so we had to take a picture.

Edits

Editing is slow going. With this weather all I've wanted to do is curl up under a blanket and watch my newest obsession…Coast Guard Alaska. Let me tell you, this show is very inspiring. I might just have to write a story about one of these guys somewhere along the line. ;)

Back on topic, though. The editing for Paul and Megan's book, Crossing The Line, is moving along. I've made it through the first 7 chapters. I know it doesn't sound like much, but progress is progress. At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

Sweet Saturday Sample: Truth (Finding Anna, Book 3) by Sherri Hayes

Brianna
“I’m so glad I found you. You have no idea what it took for me to find you, baby girl.”
His words echoed in my ears as I stood there staring. He was here. He was really here. I was frozen, unable to move. I needed to get away. Away from him. Away from here.
Red! screamed in my head but refused to come out of my mouth. It was as if I’d suddenly swallowed a mouthful of cotton. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t speak. Fear took over. My chest tightened, making it harder to breathe.
I stumbled backward, still trying to speak, but nothing would come out. I had to get away. Stephan. I needed Stephan.
As I moved farther into the living room, he followed me. He was like a giant, filling the space. I’d always thought Stephan’s place was large, but now it felt very small as John stalked toward me. The panic continued to rise, but I fought it. Breathe. Remember to breathe. Stephan. Think about Stephan.
Oxygen tore through my lungs with every intake of air. I was breathing, but it wasn’t doing its job. It wasn’t calming me. My father had come for me.
Every step I took, he matched and then some. I couldn’t get away. He was bigger, stronger. Why? Why was he here? What did he want with me?
Turning my back on him for the first time, I ran toward the phone. I stumbled over the coffee table on my way and righted myself. I knew he was close, but I had to try. I had to try to call Stephan.
My hands trembled as I picked up the phone. I didn’t get any further than that. Before my fingers could touch the keys, he snatched the phone out of my hands, tossing it to the floor behind him.

Trust (Finding Anna, Book 4) Excerpt

Here is a sexy excerpt from my upcoming release Trust (Finding Anna, Book 4).

***This is not a stand-a-lone novel***

Available March 20, 2014.

As he continued, my hips began to lift of their own accord—my body silently begging for what it wanted. He halted his movement altogether, and I nearly screamed out in frustration.

I glanced down the length of my body and found him smirking at me. “Keep those hips still, Brianna. We do this on my timetable, not yours.”

Another wave of guilt crept up, but I tried to suppress it, to remember all he’d said in the past. I wanted to please him so badly. Taking a deep, calming breath, I closed my eyes and concentrated on trying to remain as still as I could.

After another minute had passed, he began touching me again. At one point, when he inserted two fingers inside me and began moving them in and out at a rapid pace while rubbing circles right above my clit, I gritted my teeth in an attempt not to move.

“Good girl. Now I want you to count to ten for me, and when you reach ten, you may come.”

Excerpt

''Can I get you anything?'' I asked him, while taking all the empty plastic glasses off the counter.
''A smile. Give me that and you’ll get the biggest tip tonight.'' The slow seductive tone rolling off his shapely lips told me he wasn’t just fooling around. His green eyes were staring at me like I was dessert. This guy was hot and he knew it. The way his tousled light brown hair went every which way, hanging down onto his forehead, told me right away he didn’t care about his looks. He didn’t have to.
He wanted a smile? I shook my head. ''You don’t want a drink? Just water, maybe?''
''No, just a smile. You're the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen and it's just a smile I want.'' He brushed his hand through his hair, making it even more distressed.
I knew I was blushing and biting my lips in embarrassment. His eyes refused to stray from mine, pinning me in place. I smiled, but not because he asked.  No, this was solely because this very random man had pulled one out of me on his own. I saw the humor in his eyes. He slid fifty bucks out of his pocket and onto the counter. ''Thank you, Princess. You just made my night.''
He got up and walked away. I could see the hint of tattoos peeking out of his neckline and rolled up sleeves, but I was too astonished to call after him or say anything. He was wearing simple black converse, washed out jeans and a black long sleeve henley. There was something about him - mysterious and inscrutable. If he wanted to get my attention, well - he got it.
Who the hell was that? I kept asking myself as he walked away. I knew he was the guy Tyler had been excited to see, but I had never seen him around here before. I knew I would have remembered that piece of man candy.
He didn't give me his name and I didn't give him mine. Not that he had to ask - I had a name tag with my name on it. It was the strangest thing that ever happened to me. My eyes remained trained on him until he opened the door of the club and left. I found myself still watching the door, even after it was closed, like I wanted to chase after him – which was insane. I shook my head, willing myself to move on.
I began wiping the counter, pausing to watch Val entertain her groupies at the station next to me. As I turned to grab more lemons, my eyes were drawn again to the door. Tristan walked in with few of his friends. I had never seen Tristan here before and even after our dinner date tonight, I still didn’t expect it. I couldn’t tell if I was excited by the surprise visit or nervous about it. I felt like he was parading a bunch of his buddies around my bedroom, looking through all my dirty laundry. This was my home away from home and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to let him in—yet. Not to mention I was still shaken up from Mr. Mysterious.

The Start Of A New Erotic Romance Series

This last week I began writing my 9th book. It will be the first of a new BDSM erotic romance series.

It's early days, but I thought I'd tell you a little about the two main characters in this first book.

Drew is a firefighter in St. Louis. After his last relationship, he realized he needed something more. This lead him to Serpent's Kiss, a private BDSM club.

Beth hasn't had the best of luck in relationships. Her last one ended only three months ago, and it left her not sure if she could ever trust another man again. The last thing she's looking for is to jump into another relationship.

This will be a Femdom story, which is a new adventure for me. We'll have to see how things unfold, but so far I'm enjoying these two. :)

Sweet Saturday Sample: RED ZONE

Hansen helped her carry her bags upstairs. Thankfully, they hadn't dropped them off at the hotel earlier. The last room on the left was clearly the master suite and his, so she chose the one directly across from it. The walls were a soft baby blue that matched the bedspread. It wasn't as frilly as the hotel room, but it still had that air of money about it, including an en suite bathroom that had a large shower and a soaker tub. As much as she hated to admit it, she liked it.
Since she’d only brought a week’s worth of clothing with her, it didn't take her long to unpack. They were on their way downstairs within twenty minutes. As they reached the bottom of the staircase, they heard voices. Each glanced at the other before reaching for their guns and edging down the last remaining steps.
Rounding the corner, they saw a man talking with Daniels. He appeared to be about her height, wearing a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up fashionably and neatly pressed pants. He didn't look threatening, so they both holstered their guns and stepped into the room.
Before they made it more than a few feet, the new arrival noticed their entrance and was quickly racing toward them. Correction. He was racing toward her.
“Oh! This must be her,” he gushed. “I see what you mean. I can definitely help.” Before she knew what was going on, he was reaching for her suit jacket, trying to remove it.
She reacted instinctively before thinking it through. Within seconds, the man was bent over the kitchen island with his arm pulled tight and high along his back.
“What in the world are you doing?” Daniels demanded.
“What was he doing?”
“Jeez, lady. Relax. This is Charlie, my stylist.”
Glancing down at what she then realized were his designer clothes, Rebecca conceded she might have overreacted a bit. She wasn't used to people grabbing at her and trying to remove her clothes like that. She stepped back, releasing him. “Sorry,” she said. “Just please don’t try to remove my clothing without asking first.”
“Got it. No problem,” he said, glancing between her and Daniels.
Hansen recovered faster than the rest of them. “What’s he doing here?” he asked, nodding at Charlie.
“My girlfriend is going to need some new clothing if she’s going to be out in public with me. Outfits like that,” he pointed at the suit she was wearing, “won’t do.”
“And what exactly is wrong with my clothing?”
“Honey,” he said, walking up, getting way too close for her comfort. “The places I go? You’ll stick out like a sore thumb in an outfit like that.” Then he leaned in and whispered in her ear. “Or do you want everyone to know you’re my bodyguard?”

Waiting Out The Cold and Finalizing Edits

Hello everyone from bitterly cold Ohio. I hope you are all staying warm. At sunset it was about -4F here and the temp is due to drop. Our wind chill is expected to be between -20 and -40 tonight.

The cold temperatures we've been experiencing has certainly made writing and editing interesting. Normally I do my editing in my study on my desktop. That hasn't been possible given the cold. My study doesn't stay as warm as some of the other areas in our home, so it becomes rather uncomfortable to be in there for any length of time.

Because of this, I've had to improvise. Luckily, this summer I purchased Word for my Laptop. I've used it to write from time to time, but I'm now learning how to use it for editing. That might sound as if it would be simple, but it's proving to be a slight challenge. Word or not, the Mac version is different from the PC version. Especially when it comes to editing.

It was slow going at first, but I was able to figure it out. All I have left to edit is the epilogue of Hidden Threat and then it will be off to the editing team at TWCS. Hopefully I will have news soon on when Hidden Threat will be re-released.

What about you? What are you reading/writing/editing?
