Weekly Wrap-Up

This week was a little crazy for me. I had some personal stuff come up midweek and didn't get as much writing done as I would have liked. That being said, I still managed to add over 3,500 words to Trent and Abby's story, which brings my word count up to over 25,500 words.

If you haven't yet met Trent and the rest of the Daniels family, you can download the first three books in the series here.

The books I ordered for my book signing Saturday, June 6th came in this week, as well as the rest the swag.

C.W. NIGHTLY

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada I still call Montreal home. Surrounded by my husband, five children and my Siamese cat. I love reading, the smell of spring rain and walking in the first snowfalls of December when the snow is crunchy, especially at night.

I enjoy curling up with a book and losing myself in the characters. I turned that love towards writing to create stories I hope you love too.

I believe everyone is entitled to their own personal happily ever after :)

Found by Tara Crescent

I have a mission. Kill the man who kidnapped me. Kill the guards who raped me. I have guns and knives and I’m not afraid to use them. Nothing will stop me.

Then I walk into a bar and I notice him. He is gorgeous.

For four long years, my only response to anything sexual has been revulsion and fear. This time, it feels different.

I could use him. I want to use him. I could sleep with him and make a pleasurable memory as a counterpoint to the painful ones. I’m not a frightened young girl anymore. I’m a trained assassin, capable of killing him with my bare hands.

This time, I’ll be in control.

He’s just supposed to be a distraction, this mysterious man in the bar that I have a one-night stand with. But I can't predict the secrets he is hiding... secrets that are about to intersect my world in painful, unanticipated, and dangerous ways.

ABOUT TARA:  Hello, I’m Tara Cresent. I’ve always fantasized about being a mysterious spy, leading a secret double-life, and now, I find that that’s come true!

Sort of.

By day, I’m a mild-mannered corporate drone in Toronto, but by night, I’m limited only by my imagination; I sit, and I type, and I am a daring writer of BDSM, erotica and romance.

In my spare time, I write of course. I also read, garden, travel, cook, and almost never clean. I just started watching Walking Dead on Netflix (zombie erotica, anyone?), and I’m impatiently awaiting the next episode of Doctor Who. (I would kill for a TARDIS.)

I’ve scribbled bits and pieces all my life, chiefly inspired by what I’m reading, which tends to be mainly science-fiction and fantasy, with a healthy sprinkling of romance and erotica thrown in.

I’m a huge believer in happily-ever-after, but tempered by real life, where happily-ever-after is possible, but takes work.  My favorite kind of romance stories are ones that are somewhat believable; I like strong men and women who know what they want out of life, and are driven to get it.

I love reader email; I can be reached at taracrescent@gmail.com.

Happy reading and writing!

A tiny little twitch upward at the corners of her mouth at that statement made him groan. "Just this once in my life I want to have something start right. I want it to go the way it's supposed to. I want a preacher to say the words over us, then he'll tell us to kiss and I can take you home and make love to my wife all night long."

Letting go of her arms, Munk watched as she crossed both arms over her chest. "It's because of your mother. That's the reason you want to wait?"

Running both hands through his hair, he looked down at his shoes. "Partially, I guess. Ya, I've screwed other girls. I didn't think I had a hope in hell of winding up with you. After I figured out there might be a chance, I haven't been with another woman. I want it to be right. I want us to be shiny and bright like that bracelet is now, not like it's going to be when it tarnishes."

Her bare feet shuffled closer to him and Munk found his head pillowed against her chest. "I'm so sorry, love. I didn't understand. We'll do it your way. I don't want you to ever feel that way again."

Without thinking about it, his arms went around her. "What way?" he whispered.

"Like you don't matter. Like you're not good enough." Long, delicate fingers combed through his hair. The scent of her rose into his nostrils and he was almost in heaven. "You are a good man and I love you, Munro Lowell Riley. I love everything about you. But, can we at least get married as soon as this miserable job is over? Please?"

Pulling slightly backward, he looked up to find her face turned toward him. "If you get out of this dive. If we go to Palmer on your day off, we can get the damn license and swear to God, the day after I'm away from here we can get married. You can stay in the cabin and set the whole thing up. Have it at the Great grans’ place. I don't care who you invite, but the minute the ceremony is over, we're gone."

"But how are we going to get out of here? You don't have your truck, do you?"

"I'll get us out of here. Let me handle that. How about you tell me what brought this sex thing on? We've never had this come up before."

Della held his head in both hands and kissed him sweetly on the lips, then the forehead, before tugging him against her chest. "I had a dream. I had to go take a shower after it was over."

Breaking away from her, he stood and pushed her hair behind her ears. "You mean like a wet dream. You got hot for me?"

Cheeks flooding with color, Della nodded. "Yes. And I got tired of being everybody's good little girl. I asked Sandy about it and she told me guys like blowjobs."

The color in her cheeks deepened. "She said I was asking the wrong person 'cause she's into girls. And Sandy said I was a hottie."

"She didn't do anything, did she?"

"No. She said she wasn't a cheat and she has a partner at home. But she said a threesome might be fun."

The look on Della's face was so serious, Munk had a hard time holding in a laugh. "Okay, as long as she keeps her hands to herself, we're good."

Taking her wrists in his hands, Munk slowly backed Della toward the bed. "What did you do in the shower, Della? How did you fix it?"

I worked as a cocktail waitress during pipeline days in a small lodge on the Richardson Highway.

Alaska is my home. I never thought I would love it so much, I never want to leave. The beauty of Alaska is a draw I cannot resist. I love the people and the history. EROTIC NOVELLA, MATURE TOPICS, GRAPHIC RAW SEX, Older Woman Younger Man OWYM. 18+

Istvan Marinko's personal relationship theory of "Women chose, Men get Chosen" is put to the test when he encounters Celeste, a sexy older woman who's starting anew. Istvan's never found his groove in the realm of women and social situations and now he's been chosen and pulled into the unsuspecting surge and sensuality of Celeste. Everything believed is shattered and he has to chose when Celeste's past come crashing down on them.

"Why was it so bad to want to taste, touch and explore the female flesh without having to commit to a relationship? It was too much for me, trying to guess how this movie called Celeste was going to play out. What I needed to know, was my ultimate out come. Stating up front sex is off the table, I deal. Anticipation is what kills me when I get green lights, then everything slams red.

The film was almost over and I gently squeezed her thigh and whispered in her ear, “What are you doing here...with me?” I needed a hint, a clue, something from her, or I was going to put on my gentleman hat, wish her well and walk. She didn't change her expression or look away from the screen and I only heard her breathe one word softly which vanquished my internal frustrations and kept me in my seat.
“Choosing.”

#TeaserTuesday The One That Got Away by M.B. Feeney

IMG_2397
There’s something about that one person we date in our teens but never become intimate with. Why does a sexless relationship render us unable to stop carrying that person, the what if, with us into our adult life?
For Heidi Johnson, Shane Hughes is her “one that got away.” Through the years, he has stayed in the back of her mind while she became an adult, a mother, and her own person. Meanwhile, Shane has lived a life of regret that he let Heidi go for the wrong reasons: fear and a misguided sense of not wanting to hurt either of them. When they reconnect online, the memories they've tried to suppress over the years return, reigniting the feelings never explored ‘back in the day.’ Will a school reunion in their home town of London, surrounded by old school friends, help the pair address the questions the years apart left unanswered? Or will they still be left with wanting more?
                           IMG_2399
I scrambled to get my thoughts straight, wishing I’d thought this meeting through better. “Sorry.” I apologised again, bringing a small smile to her face. “I thought I had what I wanted to say clear in my mind, but the moment you walked in, it all went to shit.” “Don’t worry about it. This is your rodeo, take your time.” I glanced at my phone. There was still a decent amount of time to catch my train. “Thanks.” I took another deep breath to steady my nerves. “I know we spoke last night, after. . .” I trailed off, not sure how to phrase my words. “We had a rampant fuck in a dark alley?” Heidi supplied, making me laugh. “If you want to put it that way, fine by me.” My face began to ache from my grin, but I didn’t care. I was finally at ease and knew what I wanted to say and how to say it. “I wanted you to know that I didn’t turn up just looking to get in your knickers last night. I know I’ve flirted, some of it got pretty hardcore, but I never expected anything.” “Look, Shane. Yeah, the flirting online got pretty intense, but if I hadn’t wanted it to continue, you know me well enough to know I’d have put a stop to it. I did go to the reunion with a purpose. I wanted to remind you exactly what you’d let go. It makes me sound big-headed and full of myself, but it made me feel good. Like you, I never even considered for one moment that we’d end up in that alley, but we did.” She paused to take a sip of her coffee. I watched her intently, blown away by her frankness. This woman never ceased to amaze me, or make me regret my rash decision fifteen years prior. “As I said last night, it shouldn’t have happened, but I won’t regret it. It made us both feel fantastic, and if need be, has given us some closure.” Did I want closure? I’d told her last night that I left wanted to know how it would feel to make love to her and I hadn’t lied. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I must have thought that us having sex would, as Heidi mentioned, give us a closure on our unresolved history, but it hadn’t. “It hasn’t for me.” I had promised myself to be open and honest with her before we parted ways once again. She maintained eye contact even though her skin was flushed with a blush that spread from her throat to her cheeks. “Me either.” Add a little bit of body text (1) A good fucking looked perfect on her and

#Review Sweet Reunion by Melanie Shawn

Title: Sweet Reunion
Author: Melanie Shawn
Rating: 4.5 stars

I stumbled upon this book on a website showing free and discounted books. After reading the blurb, I decided to download it and give it a try. I'm so glad I did. This is the type of romance I love to read. The characters were well developed and it wasn't all about getting to the next sex scene. This book was about the relationship, the romance.

Amanda and Justin were both easy to relate to. The way they reacted to things, as well as their past relationship made for an intriguing story. I read a review that complained the two weren't together enough, but I completely disagree. It was important to see how Amanda was with her best friends and how Justin dealt with his family. It made them richer characters.

The only thing that kept this from being a five star read for me were a few technical issues. For example, there was a scene where Amanda walks into a room with a tray full of mason jars. Something happens and she ends up dropping the tray and the mason jars...but none of them break.

I would highly recommend this book to those who love a good, realistic, romance. This is the first book in the Hope Falls Series and they are all going on my TBR list.
